Yesterdays run was exhausting to say the least, but yay, pain-free.
The 6miler (see previous post for route) was nice and quiet and more emmission-friendly than last week’s, but had to contend with gale force arctic winds. First 2 miles tried to stay in zone one, but with the wind and a relatively heavy back-pack I was being overtaken by jogging businessmen running to cross the road / catch the bus / make it to the office, so not great. Still around 13m/m.
First tempo mile went very well – an 8m/m! but this must have been helped along with a tail wind, as once I crossed over the river and doubled back, strained to stay at 9:30m/m an even slowed to 10+m/m at c4.8miles. Made it to BSP in around an hour, so I think a sub 60:00 10K is definitely do-able.
Still umming about Sunday’s 15K XC, have big VREF day on Monday and knackered legs wouldn’t be great…
